Teardown is almost complete.  Now I need to finish a few rust cutouts and start welding in the new Goodmark panels I purchased at Hoffman Automotive in Hilliard, FL. My plan is to start with the drivers side rocker panel replacement.  I removed the old rusted rocker already and need to fabricate the inner rocker before I put things back.  I need to have a sheet metal shop fabricate the inner rocker from 18-20 Gauge steel.  It should be easy to make since it only has one bend and it is just 90 degrees.

I purchased a replacement dash (welded in portion) from a private individual and when it comes in I will weld it in.  The old dash is in some pretty bad shape (not unlike the rest of the car).  Here is what the old dash looked like.

Today I finally had some time to really get to work on the car.  Today marked the day I finally started putting things back on the car!  I installed the lower windshield replacement panel and installed the replacement dash.
First I welded in some patches I made from some scrap sheet metal to the upper cowl so I could have something to weld to.  There must have been water entering into the car under the windshield because there was quite a bit of rot in this area.  Then I ground down the welds and painted the upper cowl area with POR-15.  I ground the area where the welds were going to be placed and sprayed those places with weld through primer.  After the primer dried I lined everything up one last time and made sure all lines were correct. Then I welded in the lower windshield replacement panel.  After welding in the replacement lower windshield panel to the upper cowl and making sure everything was lined up, I welded closed some pin holes in the replacement dash and ground down the welds.  Then I painted the underside of the upper dash with POR-15.  After the upper dash was dry I welded it in also.
Lastly, I sand blasted and primed the top side of the upper dash and the lower windshield replacement panel.
Left are some before and after pictures of the upper dash.  Click here for some additional pictures of this process.

Today was spent fabricating parts to repair the passenger side lower door hinge pillar and kick plate.  The original was in pretty bad shape.  See left and click here for more pics.
